New Bike

Here is how our Saturday went.  I woke up at 6am to run with some friends.  (I am going to run a half marathon on June 1st.)  I ran about 8 miles today.

After I got home I took Blake and Janie to look for a new bike for Blake.  He has out grown his and Janie is excited to have his old one.  We found one at Target--on sale no less.  Blake was thrilled.  He is eager to take the training wheels off.  He wanted to make sure that he didn't get a bike with girl colors on it.  Orange, yellow, or red were his preference.

We came home and I crashed.  I slept a couple of hours.  Then we all went out to eat at a new restaurant in town called Rios.  Pretty good.  Then we took the kids to the elementary school park (Where Blake will be going to kindergarten in the fall!).

Adult session stake conference was tonight so kids played at friends (Thanks Lindsey!) and we went to the church.

After kids were in bed I grabbed us some Culver's ice cream.  Eric's favorite.  Concrete mixer with reeses peanut butter cups.

Sunny!

We can finally go to the park.  It is really wonderful and I have been in a great mood all week.  It was actually really hot.  Like in the 80s.  I feel like we went straight from winter to summer.  This morning we walked to the park and stayed for a couple hours.

Blake played fetch on our way there.

I took this picture while he was swinging.  It looks like I cut out a big head and pasted it on his body.

You can see his two top teeth.

Janie likes to dress herself.  She is wearing her crocks on the wrong feet.  If I ever tell her to put her shoes on she corrects me and says "they're cwocks, not shoes."

Dentist

Did I take too many pictures today at the dentist office?  Yes I did.  I just liked watching Janie hold Blake's bubble gum flavored polish.

Blake was cool, calm, and collected.  He gripped the arms of the chair as it was lowered.

Janie multi-tasking with pretzels in the other hand.

Always along for the ride.

She started out the day crying because she didn't want to go.  After watching Blake she was happy and got in the chair and put on the butterfly glasses.  I thought she was actually going to participate.  Then she started getting scared and sassy and she ripped the bib off and said she didn't want it.  After a little we got her to get her teeth polished and then she laughed at the spit sucker.  When the dentist came in she wanted nothing to do with him and we called it a day.

My Baby

I took Ty in for his 9 month check up a few days ago.  He had been up a lot the night before and I figured it was due to teething.  He actually had bad ear infections.  With medicine he is much happier but still waking up a little each night.

Weight:  19 lb 5 oz  (40th %ile)
Height:  29.5 inches  (85th %ile)

He is the skinniest baby we have had so far.  His weight is under the 50th percentile and none of our kids have ever been below the 50th percentile for anything.  Makes me feel like I need to feed him more.

He started cruising recently.  He doesn't love strangers.  We had some friends over last weekend.  If anyone tried to look at him he would immediately start crying.  He wants me and cries when I hand him over to Eric.  Eric gave him to me once and he started smiling and laughing as he was passed.  I love being loved!

People ask my lately if he has red hair.  And I think he kind of does!  I don't know why I think that is weird because we don't have red hair.  We have family that does though.

Bronco Shack

Janie has had a fever this week so we were home pretty much four days straight.  That is a lot of hours to fill.  And it was a rainy week so we couldn't even go outside.  On Thursday we knew that Eric would be coming home for lunch so we spent all morning prepping a little restaurant meal for him.  It was actually quite fun.

Blake was in charge of making the menu.  I had written the whole thing out for him to copy.  You can see the words that he spelled on his own.  Cute.  I think 'wodr' (water) is my favorite.  And he wrote what each item cost in orange.  He has a hard time when he messes up with writing or coloring and is always starting over on his projects.  Wastes a lot of paper.  I'm trying to help him cope with a little goof.  But that is why he cut the bottom of the menu.  At least he didn't start over.

I asked what the restaurant should be called and the first thing he said was Broncos.  That is Eric's favorite football team.  So we came up with Bronco Shack and he made a sign and put it on the door for Eric to see.

When Eric walked through the door Blake was a little shy or nervous saying all the things we had talked about.  But he warmed up and did great.  He had his little pad of paper and pen and wrote down the first initial of each item that was ordered.  Everyone ate lunch.  And at the end Blake asked if Eric had room for dessert.  Eric loved it and I think he paid forty dollars for this meal in paper money.  Janie was mostly along for the ride.  She helped decorate the kitchen by coloring lots of pages from her coloring book and taping them all over the wall.  Great ambiance.  Oh and we lit a candle in the middle of the table which they loved.

Conference Weekend

First time bathing all 3 together.

Conference bingo.  I think that a good opener to a talk would be for the speaker to address all the bingo kids around the world by taking a minute and saying sentences loaded with words found on their sheets.  Jackpot.

We have an official tradition of making cinnamon rolls for conference.  I know it is a tradition because Blake knew about it.  (Even though Eric didn't.)

I asked Blake if he had learned anything from conference.  He said no.  So I asked Janie "What did you learn?" and she said "Nothing."  Awesome.

 How Janie slept.

I think this picture was the highlight of my weekend.  This is how Ty fell asleep and I'm so glad that I decided not to put a onesie on him!

Ty -9 Months

Blake and Janie thought they were so hilarious giving Ty a "tail bum."  Here are some of Ty's latests:

-  one of his top teeth has come through and the other is on its way
-  pulls himself up to everything--no cruising yet
-  hates getting his diaper changed and getting dressed.  Also cries whenever I stick him in his carseat
-  gets a kick out of Janie--she can really make him laugh
-  waves hi
-  let me rock and sing to him before bed tonight
-  cries when I leave or when I come home and don't run straight to him.  Also cries when I pass him off to Eric
-  becoming more vocal.  If I make a noise he will "talk" back to me and we take turns like we're having a conversation.
-  finds everything on the floor and puts it in his mouth.  I am always sweeping.
