I don't know what happened but I kind of dropped the ball on the whole Easter bunny bit this year. I asked Eric a few days ago what our plan is for Easter and what the bunny does or gives and when. We never really finished our conversation so I just didn't do anything. Lame. I had bought a little snickers egg candy for each of them but that was all I had.
On our way home from church Blake was asking a bajillion questions about the Easter bunny and if he had come. He kept saying how he wanted to check the front porch to see if something was left there. I told him that the bunny doesn't leave stuff on the door step. Then he said that he was going to look around the whole house to see if there was something. I heard later that everyone in Primary was talking about what the Easter bunny had brought them that morning. So now I feel kind of bad but I guess I just wasn't feeling it this year. Which is weird because I love celebrating all holidays and birthdays and making big deals. What happened to me?!
Blake found his snickers on his pillow before bed. He kept asking me if I had put it there. I can't lie to my kid so I kept asking him questions back like "Why would I put a candy on your pillow?" He was getting mad and said that he needed to know if I did because if I didn't he would know the bunny did. Anyways the bottom line is that I don't think I love these fake characters that I feel like I am lying to my kids about. And I need to have a game plan so I know what our traditions will be.
We had a couple families over tonight for dinner and games. I even pulled out our china that we got from our wedding and have hardly used. I decided we are going to start using it more for special occasions.
But here is an Easter craft I made! My friend Kristen loves to craft so we both made one of these egg flowers.
