Ty - 4 Months

Ty is 4 months today and I can't get enough.  He makes me smile all day long.  He is talking more and his eyes get wider and his nose flares when he makes noise (pic below).

Tuckered

Janie will do everything in her power to not take a nap.  She stays in her room for a little bit quietly.  She was quiet for too long and this is how we found her.

Halloween Party

Our friends threw a Halloween Party--Ninjas vs. Pirates.  We went as pirates and my favorite part of our get up was on Eric's shoulder.

There were minute to win it games and Eric got to shake his booty to get ping pong balls to fall out of a kleenex box tied around him.

Janie got to try to eat a cookie after sliding it down her forehead without touching it.  She was very serious about this.  I think there was something like 35 kids there.  Very fun party.

Little Mama

Janie is so sweet to Ty.  She is always near him touching, rocking, reading, or talking to him.  She is cute with all babies really.  I remember once when she was about 18 months and there was a 10 month old baby crying.  She didn't even know the girl but bent over and started patting her back to make sure she was ok.

Field Trip

Blake's class had a field trip to the Sarett Nature Center.  Lindsey watched Ty so I could take Blake and Janie.  For the first half hour we went into the center and learned about birds, amphibians, and reptiles.  They even touched a boa constrictor.  Yuck.  Then for the next hour we went for a walk along trails.  It was actually a really beautiful and hot day.  Janie did not enjoy this.  She cried and screamed for a lot of the walk.  She kept screaming for a snack but I didn't have one for her.  I have realized that if she is ever feeling any amount of discomfort or boredom she wants food.  And she didn't want to walk either so I carried her most of the way.  As we headed back to the center she yelled nice and loud for everyone to hear "No!  I don't want to go back in there!"

Blake had a great time.  He was at the front of the line with his buddy A.J. talking to the lady in charge.  All of the kids were howling like coyotes for the last ten minutes of the walk.  He collected a bunch of leaves along the way.  Perfect field trip for him.

Pumpkins

I went back to work on Saturday and it felt great.  I work so part time that it is perfect--I only worked 4.5 hours that day.  When I got home everyone was napping at the same time.  I never can get that to happen because Janie and Blake don't like to listen to me.  The only way I can get Janie to nap is to drive her around for 30 minutes.  We went to pick pumpkins when I got home. It wasn't that cold and I think I over dressed Ty.

Blessing

Ty was blessed on Sunday.  He wore the same outfit that Blake wore for his.  Blake was only 5 weeks though and Ty is about 15 weeks old.  Also, I didn't notice until we got to church that Eric had put the outfit on backwards.  The buttons were supposed to be in the back.  No big deal and I think it looked fine so I left it that way for the day.  The day was great and we couldn't love this boy more.

Grandparents

My parents came to visit for 5 days and we had a great time.  When they arrived our dishwasher was broken and that same day our fridge started acting up.  Our appliances were both broken and in the middle of the kitchen.  Kind of funny that it happened when we had company.  But everything got fixed and Eric even installed the dishwasher himself.  I was impressed because I don't know anything about that kind of stuff.

Eric's parents came on Saturday and left Sunday afternoon.  (Ty's blessing was on Sunday.)  The kids played non stop while everyone was here.  They loved playing with grandparents and the iPad.

Apple picking with grandpa.  Bummer that because of wacky weather this year all the apples were gone--but 3 and we got them.

Pizza, carousel, and ice cream downtown on Saturday night.  I love the carousel--I guess it is because of the lights, music, comfy rocking chairs, wonderful granparents, and kids beaming that everything felt perfect.

Ty - 3 Months

Ty is still the best little baby.  I have no complaints.  He is falling into a routine which is great.  He sleeps from about 7 to 7 but we wake him up around 11 and feed him a bottle.  When awake he is either happy or has his eyebrows furrowed like he is thinking about something.  I started reading books to him and he loves it.  He smiles, coos, kicks, and flaps his arms while looking at the pages.  He likes ceiling fans.  When I'm feeding him a bottle he will spot it and stop drinking and smile.  Sometimes I will put him on the floor in Janie's room with the fan going and he will be content for at least 30 minutes.  Blake got him to laugh the other day and I was laughing with him.  He seems to like taking a bath.  Is starting to smile at himself in the mirror.  Has found his hands and sucks on them.  He wants a little more attention lately--he doesn't want to just be on the floor for very long.  So I put him in the bjorn and he watches me do chores around the house.  Eric and I fight over who gets to take care of him during church.
