60th Birthday

Janie and I flew out for a quick 3-day trip to California before Thanksgiving. Eric and Blake drove to St. Louis, and we flew there afterwards. My dad turned 60 and we went there to help celebrate. All of my sisters and their families were there. I took Janie because she still flies free. I didn't take many pictures--but that one picture that I did take (Kim) is awesome. So glad I went!

These Two

Every once in a while Blake will read to Janie. I love it so much. I could hear Blake reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar with a high pitched voice. He tries to talk to her like she's a baby. "See Janie, here are four strawberries, 1, 2, 3,4. Touch the holes with your finger."

Janie has picked up a few tricks from Blake. One is calling people "yucky" when she is mad at them. Whenever I don't give her a cracker, or want to change her diaper, or do anything that makes her slightly annoyed, she calls me yucky mommy.

Here is Blake playing with shaving cream at the museum. He is back to rhyming again, but this time on the quest to find two real words that rhyme. So he tries words out and if he recognizes both words he tells me to "Watch mom. Chair, hair!" He was in the car waiting to go and I was grabbing a few last things in the house. When I got in the car he was excited to tell me what he had discovered, "Pass, gas!"

More October

I think this scarecrow was the scariest part of Halloween. Blake made it at story/craft time at the museum. All the material was supplied and the teacher helped Blake create this little gem. I put it in the passenger seat on the drive home and every time I looked that direction it scared me. I left it there and went to my church activity that night. When I got in the car and it was dark outside--I had forgotten about scarecrow and it FREAKED me out. We said our goodbyes today.

Cardinals!

It would be an understatement to say that this World Series was a big deal to Eric. After game 6, he was seriously considering driving to St. Louis to watch the game outside of the Cardinal's stadium. He looked up cost for a ticket and it was close to $500. I had never seen Eric with so much energy and it was fun to watch him go crazy. I will admit I got into it and enjoyed watching them play. It is pretty crazy they won. This is what Eric's dad posted on facebook: "Now we know the last name of David who slew Goliath.......FREESE!" (Freese was named MVP.) We were all sad that the fun was over.
