Heart Cookies

Janie crying because she "wasn't doing it good!"

Ty does this move all the time.  He gets so frustrated.  I don't know what his game plan is but he keeps getting higher and higher.  He almost tries to walk towards his hands.  And this last week all Ty does is spits.  Like stick your tongue between your lips and make a slobbery spit mess.  I keep telling Blake and Janie it is ok if Ty does it but they can't.
We stayed inside a lot last week.  It snowed so much yesterday--Eric and Blake shoveled twice in one day.  I bet they were out in the snow about 4 hours total.  They shovel and then they play.  At church today Blake kept saying how tired he was.  So much snow.

While the boys were outside, I was playing with Janie and Ty.  Janie grabbed Ty's pretend toy phone.  Here is part of the conversation that I heard:
"Are you having a great day?  Are you??  (Sigh)  Yeah.  We are having a great day.  And we get a cookie after (the boys come inside)."

At church I saw a Blake quote I had written down in one of his coloring books.  I had forgotten that he said this and it made me smile.  He was referring to a special musical number when he said "It brings love to my ears."

Snow Much Fun

Why do I like cheesy blog post titles? I don't know. I actually don't care for the snow that much. It is pretty and fun to see at first. But we were inside for pretty much four days straight and I was starting to go a little coo coo. There were two snow days this week for all the schools here. One day there was -11 degree wind chill. The other day too much snow had fallen. Blake thought that our table looked like a big birthday cake.

It took Eric and Blake 1.5 hours to clear our driveway and walkway one morning.  Blake loves to "shuffle" snow.  After he ate breakfast he found out that Eric was outside shoveling.  Blake had to go out and help.  He worked the rest of the time until Eric was done.  He took a good nap that day.

Eric took the kids out yesterday in our front yard and they built a little hill to slide down.  At first they used a grocery bag to slide on.  But then we found a poster board that worked much better.  The kids loved it.  We need to buy some sleds and go real sledding.  We never have.  I'm so glad that Eric likes to play in the snow with the kids.  I would run outside and snap some pictures that then say See Ya.  Then I'd watch from the window and smile and wave.   When Eric went down the hill I told him he looked like a big penguin.

Princess Janie

Janie Janie.  She got this Cinderella doll with matching outfit for Christmas.  She loves being a princess.  She turns 3 in a couple of weeks and can't wait for it.  She knows it is in February and so is valentine's day.  She asked me today if I would get her two presents for her birthday.  She is excited for the cake.

6 Months

Ty is the best.  He is pretty good at sitting up now.  He rocks back and forth on his hands and knees.  Eats two solid meals a day.  Mostly squeals and makes "gaga" sounds.  Loves people, loves to dance.  Takes two to three naps a day.  Gets loopy and silly and laughs a lot before bed.  Is so ticklish.

He was recommended to be evaluated to see if he needed physical therapy because he wasn't using his left arm as much as his right.  A psychologist assessed him and said that although his left arm is slower than his right, it is still doing what it should be doing so he doesn't qualify for therapy.

Shoe Phone

We had a long car ride yesterday to and from Chicago.  The battery on the kids DVD player died and I didn't have the plug.  They were pretty bored.  Janie started talking and we found that she was talking on her shoe to a friend.  Dirty but funny.
