Ty is Wun

I still can't believe he is 1.  I told everyone we came in contact with on Saturday that it was his birthday.  Blake and Janie had been counting down all week and Janie would ask everyday how many more days until Saturday. We went to a a place called Power in Motion which is a gymastics open gym to celebrate.  Ty just crawled around and explored while Blake and Janie ran down a trampoline into a foam pit over and over again.

They looked so much cuter online!  And they are doggies if you couldn't tell.  The kids had fun decorating though.

Here is Ty showing how excited he was for his big day.  He actually had a little fever the night before so he wasn't feeling his best.

Blake made this little card.  It started out way bigger.  He said he kept messing up so he kept cutting his card smaller to fix it.

He stands!  He does better when he is holding something.  He is standing longer each day.  When he is about to sit he will bounce is legs and then stand up straight again.

Ty can say mama and cheese.
He is understanding more words and will follow little commands like
Stick out your tongue or touch your head
Seems like he is understanding more words each day.
He won't perform everytime though and if he is in front of others he will do a shy lean in to me.
Ty is great and I think I can say that I have enjoyed every minute of him because he has been such a sweet, calm, content little baby.

I was talking to Blake tonight about how I need his help when Janie is having her melt downs.  She is pretty challenging right now.  Blake was a handful for me age three too.  I was telling him some of the things he would do to me when he was three and he couldn't believe it.  Then he said something like "but I bet Ty won't become nasty because he is the sweetest little baby ever."  Funny.  And I didn't refer to Blake or Janie's behavior as nasty.  I love how he chose that word.

Janie - 3 and almost 1/2

We have had a hard time keeping this little one in bed at night.  Sometimes she comes out wearing a hat and a necklace and asking a question about a piece of paper she is holding.

One night she came out and said "Mom, what is under the floor?  Nothing?" And then ran back to bed.

She says some funny things.  I don't understand how she comes up with some of this stuff.  I've been writing them down for awhile and need to document.

She put on her clothes the other day and said "Don't I look cute when I bend over in these clothes?  Don't I looke adorable when I bend over in these clothes?"  (Ok What?!  We have never talked like that.)

The kids and I have been talking about what we should decorate Ty's cake for his birthday.  We had been throwing ideas around for a few days.  We were playing in the basement and she said "Do me for his birthday.  He loves me."  So I asked her if we should decorate his cake with a Janie and she said yeah.

She loves to read books to herself.  I love it because she talks so hilarious.  One line I caught was "When are we going to be home?  Said the brother to his mom."

Lately she has been singing Kelly Clarkson "Catch My Breath."  "This is my life.  I won't be toe.  You're supposed to be white."

She has a thing for Bruno Mars because whenever a song of his comes on she gets so excited and says it is her favorite.

I was talking to her a couple nights ago about making good choices and how we want to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus again. She asked where they were and I said they are in heaven. She was quiet for a bit and then said "Are there toys on the moon? What if Ty poops there?"

Bowling

There is a summer bowling program where each kid can play two free rounds of bowling every day.  We only have to pay for shoe rentals.  The kids haven't been bowling for over a year and are always asking to.  They were so excited.  In the car Janie kept saying "I can't wait, I can't wait.  So bad."

Blake helped Janie bowl each time. When she got the first spare Blake started to cry.   Poor kid likes to win.

T-ball!

Father's Day 2013

Eric love to play sports with Blake.  They will play football, basketball, soccer, but mostly baseball.  Janie always wants Eric to throw her up to the ceiling.  Eric is always squeezing/hugging Janie because of her cuteness.  Eric is always trying to get Ty to say dada.  They roll balls back and forth to each other.  He is good about playing board games with Blake and Janie like Sequence or Candyland (he does not go easy on them or let them win).  He also likes to tackle and wrestle with the kids.  We take turns putting the kids in their beds.  When it is Eric's turn, he makes up elaborate stories with animal characters.  His stories always have a lesson to learn or somehow apply to the kids lives.  He is a great dad.
