We stayed in an Extended Stay America in Westlake while we waited to close on our house. There were good parts about this time and other than that, it was just really hard. We watched the Olympics in this hotel. Janie lost her first tooth. (Eric pulled it out. She was so happy and giddy that she was laughing and almost crying with excitement.)
We started off most mornings with a "grab and go" breakfast that was offered. We would head downstairs and Ty always pushed the elevator buttons. If there were any "caution, wet floor" standing signs, Chet would smack the two sides together and make the sign fall down. He would do this for all three signs. Janie would help pick them up and we would all laugh. The kids would sit on the couch and wait while I poured four instant Quacker oatmeal packets in four cups and added hot water. If I was in the mood, I would make everyone hot cocoa. The kids would grab some granola bars to go.
Blake started Cub Scouts. He was excited from the start.
We spent a lot of time hanging out at the library. The kids loved the computer time.
Some mornings we would exercise by walking around the rec center. Then the kids would play at the park afterwards.
Eric's company gave us an allotment of money that could be spent on housing/food for temporary living. We loved all of the eating out we got to do. Every other day we went to a smoothie place called Robeks. I think this was a highlight of our three week stint.
We checked out a science and nature center.
Kurt had a work convention in Columbus, Ohio (a couple hours away). We drove there and spent Saturday with him. We went to a play place at a mall but quickly left after a little girl threw up. We went to a spash pad area at another mall. We ate dinner at Potbelly's and got ice cream at Dairy Queen that night.
The Jenson's stopped by our hotel on Sunday on their drive home from vacation. We spent an hour visiting in our lobby. They were preparing to move to Amsterdam for two years for Rob's rotation at Whirlpool.
We made new friends! It was an instant connection with Jill Barnes and her three cute girls--Jenna, Callie, and Finley. We went to the zoo and checked out Lake Erie with them.

We joined Costco and went there almost every other day per kids request. We loved the samples and just walking around.
We joined our Rec Center and went swimming in their awesome facilities. The kids were in heaven.
Mitchel's ice cream is delicious.
Eric took Blake, Janie, and Ty to an Indian's baseball game with his work. With their tickets they were able to buy something there for free. Blake chose a baseball bat, Janie a lady bug, Ty a hot dog, and Chet was given a duck.
