Last Day of School

Blake finished 2nd grade and Janie finished Kindergarten.  Both had a great year.  Blake's teacher was Mrs. Riley.  Janie was especially sad to be done, she loved her teacher Mrs. Retterer (We couldn't find her to get a picture with Janie.)

Baseball

Blake had a great baseball season.  They won eleven games and lost one.  They really wanted to be undefeated but barely lost the last game.  Coach Hall was great at teaching them the fundamentals of baseball.

Soccer

Blake had a great soccer season.  He became more aggressive as the season went on.  The last game he played a good team and they were down maybe three points.  Eric had to leave a few minutes early to go to a church meeting.  As Eric was walking toward the parking lot, Blake scored three times!  It was so exciting to watch and I was screaming and texting to Eric.  They were good shots too.  I get such a thrill watching Blake play his sports.

Janie and I would go together to watch Blake's games that were on week nights.  Eric stayed home to put Ty and Chet to bed.  It was fun having my little reader by my side.

Fun Day

I was able to volunteer for Fun Day this year.  I was in charge of helping pop popcorn but there were enough helpers that I ended up just following my kids around taking pictures.  It was fun to see them in action.  I was also very sick that day with a pounding headache and sore throat.  I later found out it was a sinus infection and was put on antibiotics.  Even though my head was killing me, I didn't want to miss fun day with my kids.

Janie was paired with a classmate who recently moved to the area from outside the U.S.  I think they were supposed to stick by each other.  She came up to me and told me that he was sad and wanted his mom.  I bet he was overwhelmed with all that was going on.  I love that I caught these pictures of Janie trying to help and comfort him.  She has such a good heart and is kind and nurturing.

Getting ready to Move

We decided to accept the offer with Moen and move to the Cleveland, Ohio area.  We have loved living in Stevensville and have made wonderful friends.  We will miss our house and neighborhood.  Eric enjoyed working for Whirlpool but it was time for a change.  We are excited for this new adventure.  Overall, the kids have been very positive about the move.  One day while we were in the car, Blake said "Well at least we still get to be with our family when we move."  Ohio, here we come!

Nauvoo

We spent two days in Nauvoo for part of Memorial weekend.  Marita and Newel met us there.  Eric and I were able to take turns attending the beautiful temple.  Eric had just heard that he received an offer from the company Moen, so that was heavy on our minds during this trip.

We packed a lot into those two days.  The kids had such a great time that as we were leaving, Blake mentioned he wanted to live in Nauvoo.
