Christmas Morning

Ty always seems to be crying in group pictures.

Blake loves Ty and is so sweet and affectionate to him.  Ty doesn't really like it and often screams when he is near.

Growing up we played the white elephant game with small boxes of cereal while opening Christmas presents.  We did this with the kids and I'm glad because Froot Loops kept Ty happy.

Blake and Janie were so happy and excited for everything.  (One of Eric's presents was a covering to hide all the cords hanging from the tv.  Much needed.)

Playing Just Dance for Kids on the wii.  Pretty cute.

Watching Just Dance.  More pictures to come from Christmas day--from my new camera from Eric!

Bath Time

Ty loves baths--and that is an understatement.  He is always trying to climb in with his clothes on.  As much as he loves it, Janie hates it.  She is fine (sometimes) when she gets in, but never wants to take a bath.  A few weeks ago, I put Ty in his crib with some books so I could bathe Janie.  He was crying because he wasn't in the bath.  And Janie was crying because she was.

Janie has said some funny things lately:

She was playing with Barbie dolls in St. Louis over Thanksgiving.  I asked her if she wanted one for Christmas.  She said "Yes!  Let's pray to Heavenly Father to ask Santa if Icould have a Barbie."  Then she folded her arms and started praying.

There is a little boy in Janie's preschool group that has been known to hit.  When we had preschool at our house, Janie came upstairs crying.  I asked her what was wrong and while crying she started talking fast, "Colin hit me and he always is hitting and Satan will say 'yay!' because he is hitting me."

One day Janie randomly said "When it is my birthday can we have a cake with blueberries on a bush?  And will you get me a present that I like."

Decorating the Tree

Blake and Janie quickly learned to put the ornaments up as high as they could.

Because Ty went around taking off the "balls" and throwing them around the room.

"Merry Christmas!"

Looks so lovely.

Gingerbread Men

For Janie's preschool last week we talked about gingerbread men.  I wasn't brave enough to make and decorate cookies with 5 little ones but Janie and I sure had fun!  It was nice to spend some good one on one time doing an activity that she loved.  She was so happy and excited the whole time.  She loves being in the kitchen and helping me cook and bake.  Blake and his school friend helped us decorate them after school.

Thanksgiving

The kids were so excited to get to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Watching The Lion King

Marita bought this 500 piece jellybean puzzle at the dollar store.  We all worked on it for about 24 hours.  Newel couldn't get away from it even though he told me that he hates puzzles.

Blake getting a lesson on turkeys from Uncle Nathan.

Watching football.

Janie has a hard time eating her meals in general.  Everyone had finished Thanksgiving dinner and she had a lot to go.  Scott was nice to go sit by her and visit while she finished.  He said that she talked his ear off.  And that she wanted a little bit of everything on each bite (including a piece of roll and some jello).

Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate Avelyn's 6th birthday.

Watching Chuck.

Such cute cousins!  Blake and Janie cried and cried when we left.

We went to visit my Grandma after being in St. Louis.  She is doing great.  I think we/Ty wore her out while we were there.

Brie and Nate

Brie and Nate came to visit last weekend!  Nate had a ticket to the BYU vs. Notre Dame game so they made a trip of it.  (Plus they went on to Wisconsin after for Thanksgiving.)  At the last minute, Eric got a free ticket to the game so he went with some friends from the ward.  It was freezing for them and it seemed very not worth it to me.  But the boys had fun even though BYU lost.  Eric got to go out to Red Robin afterwards so he was extra happy.

I got to meet cute baby Rex who was seven weeks old.  Emmy loved running around in dress ups.  Brie and I mostly sat and visited while trying to keep the kids happy.  We didn't have a car big enough to fit us all on Saturday so we just stayed put.  I loved having them visit and how comfortable it is to be ourselves.  Fun to reminisce BYU days and see each others growing family.
