Cubs Game

The Berg's came to visit last weekend from Sunnyvale, California. We got to go to our first Cubs game which happened to be against the San Francisco Giants. That helped me be a little interested in the game. We also had fun going downtown and playing games. Always fun to see friends.

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed.

Blake's first ball game.

He held out strong and stayed awake four hours past his nap time. On our train ride home he gave up and asleep while in the front carrier. He was drooling all over Eric's arm.

13.1 Miles

I did it! I ran a half marathon on Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. We woke up bright and early at 4 a.m. to make it in time. I am really glad that I ran and had fun doing it. Thanks to Whitney for putting it together and to Melissa for being my running buddy. I liked how strangers cheer for you on the sidelines and how you get to throw your water cup while running. One person ran with a cheese head and I saw another man running in a formal grey suit. I accomplished my goal of running the whole way (even though I was so slow by the end) and I finished in 2 hours and 25 minutes. I might even run another one sometime!

Funny Face

Blake's been making that face lately. He started pulling himself up this week and has been doing it nonstop. Yesterday I went in his room and found him standing up in his crib. He's growing up so fast.

Bite Me

Blake and I went to visit Eric's sister, Keri, and her family last week. We hopped on a train with Eric's mom and headed for Wisconsin. Eric came up later in the week after school. It was very fun to spend time with these cute little kids. The youngest, Abbie, referred to Blake as "Bate." Eric and I took them out a few places and it was fun to watch other people stare at us wondering if they were all ours.
I had one crazy day while I was there. I went for a run around their neighborhood and as I was running I saw two little dogs across the street. They started to run toward me so I stopped so they would calm down. They didn't calm down and one of the dogs bit me! I yelled "ouch!" and kept running to get away from them. It really hurt but turns out that it didn't break the skin. Now I am terrified of dogs.
Later that afternoon we went to a small petting zoo. There were animals that you could feed and there were random ducks, geese, and roosters loose. The kids were feeding the animals when Keri started to warn me about a goose that was behind me. Before she could finish telling me, the goose started biting my legs! I immediately started screaming and running while holding Blake. I was so jumpy from earlier that morning. We did laugh all the way home but what is going on with animals biting my legs?
