"Let it Go"

A common request these days is to watch youtube video clips of Frozen songs.  Ty has expanded his vocabulary to Frozen words/characters and will walk around the house singing "Yet it go" over and over again.  Janie has learned most of the words and is a lot louder and more confident with her singing.  She often asks for an Elsa braid in her hair.

Easter Egg Hunts

Kids had an egg hunt at Blake's school Saturday morning.  It was packed with kids and there were tons of eggs all around the school playground.  It only lasted about 5 minutes though.  Blake took this seriously and was a man on a mission.

That afternoon we had a picnic and hunt with some friends.  Ty would find an egg and open it and eat it before moving on.  "Handy" is what he kept asking for.  And "emmy-ahs" (m&ms).  He ate a lot of handy this weekend.

We had Sunday dinner with our friends the Parkers and Cramers.  Another egg hunt too.  I think that Ty will think this is something we do everyday now.  We have too much candy at our house.  And the Robins eggs are my absolute favorite.

My Dad

My dad came through Chicago at the end of a business trip and stayed an extra day.  I pulled Blake out of school and we headed to see him.  It was so fun!  We spent the night at a hotel Thursday night and left Friday night.  We went to a park, out to eat a couple times, did some Easter clothes shopping for the kids, and to the zoo.

It helped me remember how tricky sleeping at a hotel is with kids.  Blake and Janie shared a queen bed.  During the night Janie started crying.  I turned the light on and Blake had turned in his sleep and his feet were at the pillow right by Janie's face.  I think he had kicked her.  Ty woke up and needed his pacifier once.  I don't sleep great anyways these days and am up a bunch.  Plus Blake woke up at 5:30 a.m. ready to start the day.  He was so loud and woke everyone up  And I was tired.

My dad was a trooper rolling with our crazyness.  I hate living so far away.  Blake and Janie were fighting back tears the drive home.  Love my Dad.

Bubbles

There is something about this girl that makes me smile.  I love her lisp and that she can't say her R's.  That she skips when she is happy or excited.  My sweet Janie girl.

We had Janie's preschool at our house this morning.  Her friend Collin asked her if she was going to have a baby.  She said yeah.  He asked if it was a boy baby or a girl baby.  And she said "A boy.  I know... it's going to be crazy."

Grandparents

Newel and Marita came for about six days to visit and help watch the kids while Eric was at work and while I went away.  I went for a fun four days to Idaho/Utah to spend time with my sisters and mom.  It made it easy to leave knowing that they would be there--plus Eric would be home after work.  The kids had a blast watching movies, taking trips to the dollar store, library, and eating good food.

Right before they left to go home I grabbed my camera.  Blake was already at school.  Janie was so sad that they were leaving and cried on and off all day.  I have the best in-laws.

22 Weeks

We're having another boy!  Here are a couple of pictures of me at 22 weeks.  Eric and I brought Blake and Janie with us to the ultrasound to find out what we are having.  Each had a sucker to help keep quiet during the appointment.  The technician was very quiet and went through the measuring without any emotion.  She came across something and pointed to it while saying "penis, scrotum."  And that was it.  I thought it was pretty direct.  So I looked at my kids to announce the news that we were having a boy.  Blake was cheering with his arms in the air.  He said he had guessed right.  He was so excited because he wanted a baseball team in his family.  Janie was quiet and didn't say anything but I think she was just happy with her sucker.  Later she told me that she wanted a sister but I told her it would be ok.  Eric would have been happy either way.  I am glad that Ty will have a little brother to be buddies with.  And Janie can be their little mommy.  And Blake is a great big brother.  Now we just need to pick a name for this baby.  Three months to go!
