Ta Da!
We bought a house! We drove to Michigan today to close but aren't moving in until Friday. It was fun to see the house empty and ready for us. Blake was in heaven running around and was excited for his new room. After everyone left we bought lunch at Culvers and ate on the kitchen floor. It was a fun family moment even with constantly telling Blake to sit down with his BBQ sauce fingers. We couldn't be more excited.

So I Don't Forget
I told Blake this morning that we were going to watch Daddy play frisbee after he ate breakfast. Blake responded "No, pomorrow (tomorrow) eat breakfast."
The other day I was in the kitchen while Blake was eating lunch. I went to give him some more food and he said "Put food in nose." He sure did! I had to dig out a couple good sized pieces of bread.
I told Blake we were going to eat some mango. While I was cutting it he kept asking for "flamingo."
Blake has started making up words to songs. They are pretty simple but make me laugh. The other day we were downtown and surrounded by buildings. To the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Blake started to sing "Building building nucka nucka..." over and over. I was laughing and he said "Mommy sing nucka." The other day we went for a walk and to the same tune he sang "Windows windows..."
When someone says a prayer he mumbles the whole time like he is trying to say it too.
Eric was changing Blake's diaper while he was so hyper. He was waving to the cieling and saying "hi keewing! (ceiling)." Then he waved with both hands and kept saying hi and laughing. He told Eric to do the same with both hands.
If I say no to something Blake wants, he goes and asks Eric.

Rad Grad
Eric did it! He graduated last night. His parents came into town and we went to dinner before graduation started at 6p.m. at the McCormick center.
Eric always teases me on how he is not included in this blog. He is reading this and he said "All I have to do is kill two years of my life getting an MBA..."And now he gets to be on our family blog! No, Eric is great and he worked really hard. He is also such a good dad and husband. I'm so proud of him and we are excited for our move to Michigan. Way to go Eric!

We sat up high in the balcony section and I felt bad for those who sat around us because Blake doesn't know how to whisper. There were over 500 graduates so it took awhile. Blake would stop and drop whatever was in his hands, face the stage, and excitedly clap with the audience. When Eric was about to walk across the stage we put Blake on Eric's moms lap. When they called his name she whistled with her finger in her mouth and I cheered. Blake instantly started crying because we were too loud. Hadn't thought that we would be yelling right in his year. He was crying and looked at me and said "Grandma (and tried to make a whistle while putting his fingers on his lips)." He was trying to show me why he was crying.

On Eric's last day of school Blake and I decorated the door with crayon drawn pictures to celebrate. I kept telling him how Daddy was going to be all done with school. It is weird that for almost all of Blake's life Eric has been in school. It seems like we've had Blake forever but we've been in school a short while. It has been a good two years.

There was a reception afterwards outside overlooking Lake Michigan.

Ice cream afterwards at Potbelly's. I tried a frozen yogurt smoothie and it was good!

Blakers
Blake has been saying some funny things lately.
- He loves talking about birthdays, cake, candles, etc. I asked him what he wants for his birthday and he thought for a second. Then he said "a cow."
- He sings "Farmer and the Dell" all the time. Some of it is clear but some of it is mumbled because he doesn't even know what he is singing. Today I was changing his diaper and he was singing this song. I grabbed for a wipe and he said "Wipe! The farmer takes a wipe. The farmer takes a wipe. Hi ho..."
- When Blake really wants something he will use the word please too many times. "Please mommy have a cookie please mommy please..."

Janie - 4 Months
We've had a recent break through. Two weeks ago Janie figured out how to keep the pacifier in and now she sleeps through the night. She also naps when Blake does. Yesterday she took a 4 hour nap while Blake took a 3 hour nap! I have not been so happy in so long and I feel back to normal again. It is amazing what sleep can do to you.

She is very squirmy and won't hold still when she's on the floor. I think she wants to see whats going on so she wiggles a lot. She can now roll over from her back to her stomach. Whenever I smile at her she makes a big open mouth smile, wrinkles her nose, and squints one of her eyes. I love being greeted like this when I get her in the morning or from a nap. I'm so in love.
She found her toes today.
14 lbs 8 oz
23 3/4 inches

Victory is Mine
Those who know Eric might know that he likes to wear t-shirts. And he seems to prefer old/weird ones and not just when exercising but for daily wear. Since we've been married I've tried to get rid of some. We've made various bets and agreements and I've slowly thrown them away. But there have been a few that he refused to part with... until yesterday. We were de-junking and I told him that we had to get rid of half of his shirts and for some reason he agreed. These are some of the beauties that are history.

This is a shirt that he was given after he taking a CFA exam. I can't believe he would wear this and not feel silly.

As I held this one up for the approval to get rid of it he said "But I've had that shirt since I was 14." Fourteen years old! That is exactly half of his life.

Years ago I contemplated making him a t-shirt quilt but then I realized that I would have to continue to look at these for the rest of our lives. I'm proud of you Eric! Way to let go.
