Library
Eric only has one final exam so we came to St. Louis to join cousins during their spring break for a week of fun. Not only is it fun to see everyone but it is nice to have some help with Blake and Janie.
Today I was feeding Janie when Blake woke up from his nap. Eric's sister and mom took him and some cousins to a nearby library. I met up with them a little while later.
Janie was being pretty fussy so I was bouncing her while trying to listen to little nieces read. I was also trying to keep an eye on Blake. He started pulling books off of shelves and dropping them on the floor so I headed towards him so he would stop making a mess. He gave me a good smile and then took off running. One of his cousins chased after him. Then he really thought we were playing a game and he started screaming high pitch as he ran. I was chasing behind with crying Janie. Everyone in the library was watching us. Everyone. I finally got Blake by the arm and he started screaming. (It's not a mad or mean scream, it is a playful one. He recently started doing this and I don't know how to make him stop) He also dropped to the ground so I lost my grip and then he was off again. By this time I see my mother and sister-in-law frantically running toward me like the had been trying to figure out where we were. Don't worry, I finally got him. I knew it was funny while it was happening but I was slightly embarrassed. I think the kicker was what he was wearing. Not quite sure why he was wearing his pajama bottoms and knitted sweater to the library. I like to call them his Shrek pants.

I love my little Shrek.

Update
Blake is something else. Today his new phrase was "No way." I realized that I ask him a million questions in a day because I heard "No way" that many times. Even if I ask him if he wants something like a cookie he automatically says "No way" followed by a pause and then a "Yep."
He has started to do more pretend play. He pretends that he sees animals and we have dialogue about what he sees. Today we were on a boat (couch) and he pointed out everything he saw in the water. I think the pretend shark scared him because he told me "shark home."
He imitates everything. One of my favorites is "Oh my goodness."
When he wants you to sing a song he will say "king kong."
At first he was thrilled with Janie. Lately when I'm holding her and he wants me he yells "No Janie!"
Janie is three weeks tomorrow. She is such a good baby. It is amazing how much she sleeps! She does not like baths and screams the whole time. She has dimples hidden in those cheeks.Tuesday, February 16, 2010
More
Here are a few more pictures. Eric's mom was here a little before and after Janie was born. Then my mom came and she just left tonight. It was hard to say goodbye. They were both such great help and I am nervous for my first day on the job alone!
Blake loves "Baby Janie." He always wants to give her kisses. We took them both to the doctors last week and Blake started fake crying when he heard Janie cry. I thought that was cute.
